It Doesn't Matter What and How You Paint !

Does it really matter?

We keep practicing for years trying to reach the perfection of William-Adolphe Bouguereau or the brush work of Rembrandt spending hours and hours to reach the correct drawing or at least the convincing realism. Then we give up in the middle of the process after having a headache on a Saturday morning. Possibly realizing - since everyone is doing it - trace the drawing and get over that pain and save your self many hours. Does it matter what style your art is? Let me say it in another format: trust me, no one cares ! the subjective nature of art proves it, the questionable pieces of art that ended up in galleries also prove it. Meanwhile, some artists practice for decades and may not see the light! So, what to paint and in what style? Everything and everything. Try everything you can, different media, different style. Just do it! you will discover things about yourself, weakness, strength, lack of knowledge. during the process of trying and experimenting, you will be attracted to a specific aesthetics that you can use on a bigger art pieces.

If you want to do only realism or spending weeks on hyperrealism portraits, go for it! you will find yourself spending so much time while the world is moving faster everyday.

But if you are discouraged by that process, just paint anything, in any way! Turn your thoughts into shapes and colors to represent them on paper or canvas. Know composition and color theory, or don't! The idea is that no matter what you do, you can't dictate how people are going to receive your art; you will never know, especially in the age of algorithmic art on social media! Hyperrealism? Looks unreal, because the more you blend, the more it looks like plastic. Abstract? Oh, this one has so many! The most famous quote of all time is: "I could do that." Landscapes are boring, and flower painting is so overused. So, don't be trapped into the what style or what subject and spend so much time not knowing what to do!

Imagine you are the only artist in the world , how would you paint a picture? Enjoy the process ,apply the paint in anyway you find it appealing to you. use different colors, see which ones speak to you, turn your feelings and ideas of things into shapes

with colors and see how they work together, let the viewer feel something.

In the modern art world, a cultural response to a good art is "cool" because people are not necessarily able to express how they feel when they like good art. it's not their responsibility to write an essay about your artwork, it's the artist job to make the viewer connect and feel something.

Absolutely priceless. Fresh and eye-opening. "Imagine you are the only artist in the world, how would you paint a picture?" - I'm taking this sentence with me. I like challenges. I wish all of us - creators and those simply interested in art - a wonderful journey, full of new impressions, ideas, faith in the invisible and good light. Thank you for your thoughts.
